| Let's go ahead and Chisel out some rough
Stone, no chisel and hammer required! |

| 1.) Create a New file, 800
X 600 pixels at 225 ppi on a white background. Press D on the keyboard
to set the Foreground color to black. |

2.) Select the Horizontal
Type tool
and type your first bit text in the Upper half of the work area.
The font used is ErasureDust Regular
72pt Sharp. Select the Move tool
and Click+Drag on text to center. |

| 3.) Press Ctrl+T to
bring up the Free Transform bounding box. In the
Options bar, enter 130 for Height and text will expand.
Now, Double-Click inside the bounding box to commit Transformation. |

| |
|
| |
4.) Select the Horizontal
Type tool
and type your second bit text in the Lower half of the work area.
Select the Move tool
and Click+Drag on text to center. |
| |

| |
5.) In the Layers palette...
click the Eye icon
on the Background layer to turn off it's visibility. Now, go to
Layer > Merge Visible. (The
two Type layers will merge as one.) Now, turn back on the Eye
icon to the Background layer.

6.) Go to Window
> Styles to open the Styles palette (if
not visible.) In the Styles palette... locate the
style named Chiseled Stone ,
then click on it to apply effects. That's all there is to it! Text
is now finished. Compare work to image at top of page. |

| (Alternately, you may apply effects manually
by following Steps 6a thru 6g below.) |
6a.) Click on the Add
a layer style button
(located bottom of Layers palette). When the pop-out appears, click
on Pattern Overlay... once the Layer Style
palette appears, click the downward triangle next to the
Pattern window to open the Pattern-Picker. Now, click the triangle
in the top right corner and a pop-out menu will appear. Select KS
Patterns and correct library will load. Locate the pattern
named Chiseled Stone and click on it
to apply. Leave this palette open for the next few steps. |

| 6b.) Click the
Drop Shadow tab and follow
settings below. |

| 6c.) Next, click on the Color
Overlay tab. Click the color well and when the Color-Picker
appears, enter #FFCCCC at the bottom input box then click OK to close.
Adjust Opacity to 18%. |

6d.) Click the Inner Glow
tab. Click the color well and when the Color-Picker appears,
enter #CC9933 at the bottom input box then click OK to close.
Adjust settings below.

| 6e.) Click on the Bevel
and Emboss tab. Adjust settings below. |

| 6f.) Under the Bevel
and Emboss tab- Click the Contour tab. Click the
downward triangle to open the Contour-Picker. Double-Click the Cove-Shallow
contour to select and close the library. Now, adjust the range to
56%. |

| 6g.) Click the Texture
tab. Click the downward arrow to open the Texture-Picker. Find the
texture named 022.bmp and Double-Click on it to select and close the
library. Adjust depth to +91%. |

| Click the OK button to close the Layer
Style palette. Text is now completed. Click here
to compare your work. |
