| This Technique will produceText that has
the appearance as being Squeezed out of a tube of Tooth Paste. |
| |

| |
| 1.) Create a New file, 800
X 600 pixels at 225 ppi on a white background. |
| |
2.) Select the Horizontal
Type tool
and in the Options bar, select Harquil Regular 100pt Sharp. (Type
in 100 in the input box for pt size.) Now, click on the color well
to activate the Color-Picker. |

| Change color to #6699CC at the input box
at the bottom of the picker then click OK. |
| |
|
| |
Now, type your text, then move the curser
under type and Click+Drag to reposition if necessary. In the Options
bar... click on the Commit button .

| |
3.) In the Layers
palette... Ctrl+Click on the Type layer to start a Selection around
the outside of text. Now, drag this layer to the Delete
layer button
as we will not need it any longer. Click on the Create a
new layer button
to create a new blank layer. |

| 4.) Go to Select
> Modify > Smooth...
and when the dialog box appears, enter 10 and click OK. The Selection
will round out the edges of text a little further. |

Now, go to Edit >
Fill. When the Fill panel appears, be sure Foreground
is selected and Opacity is 100%, then click OK. Leave the Selection
active. Now, click on the Create a new layer button
to create a new blank layer. |

| 5.) In the Tool
palette... click on the Foreground color and when the Color-Picker
appears, enter #99CCCC then click OK. |

| 6.) Go to Select
> Modify > Contract...
and when the dialog box appears, enter 10 then click OK. Selection
will move inside of text. Go to Edit > Fill.
When the Fill panel appears, just click OK. Use Ctrl+D to Deselect
Selection. |

| 7.) Go to Filter
> Blur > Gaussian Blur... and
when the Filter appears, enter a Radius of 7.8 then click OK. The
edges of the second color will blend nicely into the first. |

| 8.) In the Layers
palette... click on layer 1 to select. |
| |
|
| |
Go to Window > Styles
to open the Styles palette (if not visible). In the Styles
palette, find the style named Gel1
and click on it to apply settings. Go to Step 9.

| (Alternately, you may apply settings manually
by following Step 8a below.) |
| 8a.) Go to Layer
> Layer Style > Drop Shadow...
and the Layer Styles palette will open. Enter settings below then
click the OK button to apply. Be sure to have Global Light unchecked. |

| 9.) Should now be showing
a nice Drop Shadow. |
| |

| |
| Next, in the Layers
palette...click on Layer 2 to select. |
| |
|
| |
In the Styles palette,
find the style named Gel2
and click on it to apply settings. Go to Step 10. |

| (Alternately, you may apply settings manually
by following Step 9a below.) |
| 9a.) Go to Layer
> Layer Style > Bevel and
Emboss... and when the Layer Style palette re-appears,
Click the Shadow Mode color well to open the Color-Picker. Enter
#FFFFFF at the bottom input box, then click OK to close. Adjust
the rest of the settings below, then click the OK button to apply.
Once again, be sure to have Global Light unchecked. |

| 10.) Gel is looking pretty
good, but we can go one step better! We need to add a small amount
of jiggle. |

| Go to Layer > Flatten
Image. Now, go to Filter > Distort
> ZigZag... and when the Filter appears,
adjust Amount to 4, Ridges to 5 and set Style to Pond Ripples then
click OK. |
