(If the library is different than the image below, click the triangle at the top right corner and a pop-out will appear. Select Reset Brushes. A message box will appear, just click OK and the correct library will load).

3.) Go to Window > Styles to open the Styles palette (if not visible). In the Styles palette, simply click on the style named Worm to apply settings. Go to Step 4.

(Alternately, you may manually apply settings by following Steps 3a thru 3f below).

3a.) Next, Click on the Add a layer style button (located bottom of Layers Palette). When the pop-out appears, click on Color Overlay and the Layer Style palette will open.

Now, adjust the settings and when you are finished, click the OK button to close the Layer Style palette.

4.) At this point now, your text should have some good Color, Shape and strong Reflection.

In the Layers palette... Click the Create a new layer button to create a new blank layer. Press X on the keyboard to switch the Foreground color to white. Next, select the Brush tool . Carry the brush over the work area and Right-Click to bring up the Brush-Picker. Select a Hard Round brush and set diameter to 32px. Paint as first image below using a slight curve (should look like a jelly bean).

Next, Select the Erasure tool . Carry the brush over the work area and Right-Click to bring up the Brush-Picker. (If the library is different than the image below, click the triangle at the top right corner and a pop-out will appear. Select Reset Brushes. A message box will appear, just click OK and the correct library will load). Select the Hard Round 19px brush.

Position the brush over the Bottom of the jelly bean and click once to Erase. (It will now appear as if the text is traveling through the center of the bean.)

5.) Here's a neat little trick! In the Layers palette, under the Text layer...click on the word Effects and hold until it turns black, then Drag and Drop on to the work area. (All of the style effects will apply instantly to our Active layer).

6.) Go to Layer > New > Layer... (Shft+Ctrl+N). When the pop-up appears, just click OK. Select the Brush tool and choose a Hard Round brush. Set the diameter to 3px and paint curved stripes across the surface of text.

In the Styles palette now, find the style named Worm Stripes and click button. (If you are curious about these settings used, just go to the Active layer and Double-Click on Bevel and Emboss or Inner Glow and click Cancel when you are finished viewing).

7.) Now, we must cut the stripes to Conform to the text. In the Layers palette, Ctrl+click on the Worm layer to create a selection. Go to Select > Inverse. Should now look like image below:

Go to Edit > Clear to make the cut followed by Ctrl+D to De-select.

Should now have the image below:

8.) To finish Style, We need to remove some of the strong white Reflection in the text. In the Layers palette... click on the Create a new layer button . Select the Eyedropper tool and click on a shade of color from the text in which to paint. Paint with the brushes and the colors until you get an image close to the finished Style at top of page.

Click here to View as you finish.
