Most of the Brushes delivered over the
internet come Downloaded as Compressed files. This method is used
to deliver them correctly intact as well as reducing download times
as they are much smaller in size.
You will need De-compression software
to un pack them on delivery. There are plenty of shareware products
out there to choose from. Some of the most popular programs are
Winzip, Stuffit and Win Rar. I use Win Rar. It is available for
Windows and Mac. Clicking the link banner below will take you to
their site where you can Download the latest version.
Unpacking
and Installing Brushes
Go to the Compressed file you you wish
to unpack and Right-Click on it to launch the pop-up menu. Select
Extract to (what ever the file name is).
A duplicate new Un-compressed
folder will be generated.
Click on the New folder
to open it. Now, click on the Brush file to highlight it. Next,
click on Copy this file.
When the Copy window appears, click Local
Disk C: > Program Files > Adobe
> Photoshop > Presets
> Brushes. Now, click the Copy
button and the Brushes will be installed into the operating system
and be ready for use.
Note:
(If the Operating system is Installed on a different Disk drive,
then just select (substitute) it first.)
One last note: You
may Delete the Compressed folder now, if you wish, as it was only
used for delivery.
