as the StarBurst Effect! |

| 1.) Open ImageReady.
Press D, then X on the keyboard to set the Background color to Black.
Create a New file. Go to File > New.
Make it 400 X 125 pixels on Background color, then click OK. |

2.)
Next, go to Layer > New >
Layer. When the dialog box appears, name this
layer Starburst, then click OK to
Create.

| Now, press Ctrl+Backspace to Fill this
layer with Black. |
| |
3.) Go to Filter >
Render > Lens Flare. Set
Brightness to 100% and Select the 105mm Lens, then click the
Center of the Preview window to generate Starburst. Click OK
to apply.

| This is the appearance we are looking

| 4.) You could use
this Starburst as is, however, we will change it's color to show
you how this can be done. Press Ctrl+U to bring up the Hue/Saturation
palette. (Working from the Bottom Up) Select Colorize, adjust Saturation
to 40 and Hue to 300, then click OK to apply. |

| Here is our Colored Starburst. |

In the Layers palette...
click the Eye icon
to the Starburst layer to turn Off it's visibility. The palette
should now look like this: |

5.) Select the Type
tool .
Go to the Options bar and choose the font. I used Matisse
ITC 100 px Smooth. (You may have to type in manualy
100 px at the input box for Size.) Also click the Color well to
the Right and change to White if needed. |

Now, click on the work area and type
your Text. Select the Move tool
to Commit and Drag Type to Center. Next, go to Layer >
Rasterize > Type. |

6.) Go to the Layers
palette and click the blue arrow
(located Top Right of palette). A pop-up menu will appear. Select
Duplicate Layer. Repeat this 3
more times. (A Total of 4 "Copy" layers
will be generated.) |

| Let's take a moment now to Rename All
of the Type layers. Double-Click the Top layer to highlight it's
name. Enter S, then Double-Click the Next layer Down to Select and
Rename it's layer to P. Continue with process until All Type layers
are Renamed and spell SPACE. Press Enter on the keyboard to apply
the Last layer. |

Now, click the Eye icons
to the Top 4 Type layers to turn Off visibility
to these layers.

7.) Select the Erasure
tool .
Carry the erasure over the work area and Right-Click to Open the
Brush Library. Select the Hard Round 19 brush, then click Enter
on the keyboard to close. |
(If the library is different than the one shown, click
the blue arrow
at the Top Right and a pop-up menu will appear. Select Reset
Brushes. A dialog box will appear, just click OK and the
correct library will load.) |

| Now, erase everything but the Last
letter. |
| |

Click the Eye icon
now, to turn Off this layers visibility. Click the Next layer Up
to Select and turn On it's visibility. Click on the work area and
erase eyerything except the letter named for this layer. Repeat
process until All layers only have One letter to Each. |

| 8.)
Leave On the visibility to the Top layer, now click the Starburst
layer to Select and turn On it's visibility. |

| 9.) Using the keyboard...
press V to Select the Move tool. Hold Down the
Left arrow to nudge the Starburst Behind the First letter. |

| 10.) Next, go to the
Layers palette and Turn Off visibility to the S
layer. (This will be the First Frame of the Animation.) |

11.) In the Animation
palette, click the Duplicate Frame button
to Create the Next Frame. Change visibility in
the Layers palette to reflect image in Frame
2 below: |

12.) Click the Duplicate
Frame button
to Create Next Frame. Change visibility in the
Layers palette to reflect image below: |

| Hold Down the Right arrow to nudge
the Starburst behind the second layer. |
| |
|
| |
| Now, turn Off visibility to the P layer.
This is Frame 3. |

| 13.) Continue adding
Frames, adjusting visibility and (nudging the Starburst
layer on all Odd numbered Frames) for a Total of 10 Frames.
Below All Frames are displayed to set up the Animation. |

| 14.) Last of all,
we need to Delay the timing to Frame 10. Click
the 0 at the Bottom of the Frame and set to 1 Sec.
as shown above. |

15.) Animation is
now ready to play by hitting the play button. (For
a more precise animation speed) click the Preview in Browser
button ,
to view in a browser. |

| 16.) Optimize
and Save the file with File > Save Optimized
As... Images Only (*.gif) |
